Owl Class (YearS 1 & 2)

In Owl Class this term -  WE ARE EXPLORERS!

We have been learning all about explorers both old and new. We have been learning about explorers from the 14th Century - Ibn Battuta and Christopher Columbus and we have had visits from real life explorers who have visited Antartica and South-American Jungles. We have learned what an explorer might pack in a rucksack to go on an expedition, where in the world they might go and what animals they might see on their travels. We have even been exploring our own village of Chew Stoke.

In maths, we have been continuing to practice our addition and subtraction skills.

In RE, we have been learning about Incarnation, by finding out about the Nativity Story and the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. We have also been looking at what life is like in modern day Bethlehem, as part of our Global Learning.

We have also had a very exciting visit from a real life spiderman, who bought us a tarantula, called Rosie to see!
